Working in the space where structure and freedom meet.
About me
People sometimes ask if I'm a project manager who's into art, or an artist who ended up in business. Neither. It's the same work, in different rooms.
A project is like raising something alive and dynamic - a team, an idea, a product. It needs enough structure to feel safe, and enough freedom to grow. Too much of either, and it doesn't survive. That's true whether I'm redesigning how eight teams inside a bank talk to each other, or writing the checklist for a youth exchange.
Write down what you don't need to remember, so you can focus on what matters.
That's true of a Jira board and a concert setlist.
Prepare for things going wrong, so you can be fully present when they go right.
That's true of a hospital IT rollout and a poetry wokrshop.
Different forms. Same craft. I've spent nearly twenty years refusing to pick one.

What I stand for
On organizations
I believe organizations are living systems, not org charts — driven by individual agendas but also carrying a character of their own. What actually moves them is the dynamics underneath, not the structure on paper. Structure just gives the dynamics a direction to flow in.
On leadership
Leadership is service, not heroics and not self-effacement. It's playing a specific role in the system, but not being more or less important in the hierarchy of needs. Listening to what each person and the collective actually need, and supporting them toward their potential, rather than being led by every whim or leading by command.
On creativity
In the right conditions, we're all creative and expressive. Playfulness is how we find new connections - to ourselves and to each other. It is being seriously playful, or playfully serious.
On learning
Learning happens from emotional connection to a topic, and from feeling safe enough to experiment. The spark to grow is natural in people - it's the conditions that are often missing, not the will.
What it's like to work with me
It is not easy...
I am usually a troublemaker. I come in to balance and be an advocate for what is underrepresented. If things are stuck, I will bring movement and an unconventional point of view. If there is so much flexibility that it feels like chaos, I will bring structure and discipline. One thing for sure - challenge what the system is used to. Surface the patterns and dynamics that are uncomfortable and more convenient to be unspoken. But need to be brought to life.
...but feels supported
I believe in creating conditions in which the truth, even uncomfortable, feels safe to come out. Where the clarity doesn't feel threatening, even though challenging. The change is uncomfortable, but it should never feel unsafe. And underneath the challenge, I will support what is serving the goals and purpose agreed between the people.
